The Oxford Area Public Library is committed to making its building, services, and resources accessible to all. We offer a range of accommodations and materials to support individuals with varying needs and abilities.
Building Accessibility
The building is accessible to individuals who have difficulty climbing steps as well as those who use walkers or wheelchairs. An elevator is available to ensure access to all public areas.
Assistive Technology
The library offers equipment and tools to support individuals with visual and hearing impairments.
Available Resources:
- Large-screen computer workstation with screen enlargement capabilities
- Wheelchair-accessible adjustable computer worktable
- TTY (text telephone) machine for communication with the hearing impaired
Accessible Collections: Large Print & Audiobooks
We offer a growing collection of large print books and audiobooks, including both fiction and nonfiction titles.
Additional materials can be requested through the Chester County Library System, expanding access to even more titles.
Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped
This federally funded service is available at no cost to individuals who are unable to read standard print due to a visual or physical condition.
What’s Included:
- Books and magazines in large print or audio format
- Materials delivered directly to your home
- Free return through any U.S. mailbox
- Specialized equipment for listening to audiobooks
Applications are available at the library and can be completed with assistance from staff.
Adult Outreach Services
Additional support services are available through the Chester County Library System for cardholders who may benefit from extended access or assistance.
